Carlo Ambrose Colombo, 72, left us much too soon on March 2, 2019, in Kirkland, Washington. He is survived by his two children, Gian (Claiborne) Colombo and Justine (Breck) Ivy; grandchildren, Bo and Ry Hammond and Astrid, June and West Ivy; his siblings, Giulio (Cristela), Michael (Nancy) and Mary Colombo; numerous cousins; and many dear friends. Carlo also notably leaves behind his loving companion, Shareen Rendon, and his former wife of 35 years, Lynda Colombo. And finally, no memory of Carlo would be complete without mention of his beloved dog, Joshua Buddy Henry.
Born and raised in El Cerrito, California, Carlo moved to Lopez Island in 1981, where he and Lynda hand built their family home. He was loved by many as a father, brother, grandfather, friend, barber, craftsman, philosophical jokester, jazz aficionado and a kind, passionate, familiar soul. His puttanesca and his biscotti were second to none. His jokes were second to many: “It’s all in the delivery!”
He never saw “Gone With The Wind.”
A memorial will be organized by the family on Lopez Island in the coming months. We love you, you rascal you.
