In regards to the pandemic, is it just me or does anyone else feel like a first-grader who keeps losing recess because a few kids won’t play by the rules? Islanders did an exemplary job of keeping COVID away this summer. Our county had one of the lowest rates of infection in the state. Now, we’re seeing more cases. Yeah, we’re all “COVID weary,” and everybody hates the masks; but now is not the time to let our defenses down. Coronavirus is not something grandma and grandpa want for Christmas. Remember, we’re islanders. We understand tough times. We can get through this together if we just do what needs to be done.
