If you took a woman from Georgia, a California drummer-turned-banjo player, a Deadhead bass player and a bluegrass fiddler and put them in the same room and said, all right folks, get down and dirty! The result would be Deadwod Revival. Creating some of the most unassuming, honest, “feel good” music on the planet and filled with the spirit of old-time Appalachia, Deadwood Revival conjures up music that has grown from soulful American roots with a hint of jam-band improvisation thrown in. Their foot stompin’, banjo pickin’, spirit liftin’ original and traditional tunes are quite simply irresistible. Jason Mogi’s clean, imaginative clawhammer banjo, with Kim Trenerry and Ches Ferguson’s driving rhythm on acoustic guitar and electric bass plus the fierce fiddling of Julie Campbell, provide the musical backdrop for Kim and Jason’s powerhouse vocal harmonies that give Deadwood Revival its unique and unmistakable sound.

Sue Dumond, the mastermind behind the Grange series, commented, “We will ‘Grange the range’ to Woodmen Hall for this next show with Deadwood Revival. This will be the first concert in the newly renovated Woodmen Hall since it underwent repairs several years ago. A bigger space means that there will be more room to dance as well as chairs to sit.”

But the bigger space and some scenarios with the breakdown of the concert hall present some difficulties.

“I will definitely need more help,” Dumond said, “and the work goes really goes fast when I have those extra hands. I am so appreciative of all the help and support I have already received. Thank you!”
