As a high school senior, there are some perks. One of them is that the junior class funds and organizes the senior prom.

This year, the juniors are holding a Giant Garage Sale on Saturday, March 22, 10-1 p.m. in the multi-purpose room at Lopez Elementary School. There will also be a bake sale. All proceeds will go towards the dance.

The prom is on May 10 and the theme is “Hollywood.” The juniors, this year a class of 22 with only four girls, fundraise, organize, and decorate the venue.

Junior class advisor Tina Dengler is encouraging the community to drop off items at the elementary school on Friday, March 21 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. “It’s a great time of year to do a spring cleaning — donate your items and help the junior class put on a great prom.”

The juniors will also be holding a car wash in the coming weeks to help raise money for the event.
