July 4th parade and fun run results

It was another fun-filled fourth on Lopez with high attendance at the Lions’ Club Fun Run (308 participants) and Friends of the Lopez Library book sale, plenty of unique floats, and an outstanding fireworks show. See below for run results and award winners.

Overall Winners 10K run: Amy Esary 41:36, Scott Tucker 37:19.

Overall Winners 5K run: Fiona Lloyd-Moffett 21:56, DJ Tarrant 19:25.

Overall Winners 5K walk: Holly Lovejoy 38:24, Jeff Jacobs 36:33.

Parade winners

Best of theme: Yacht Club; Chamber of Commerce award: Lopez Island Pharmacy; Mayor’s award: Ron’s Repair (Green Group); Queen’s award: Carlson Kelp Corps.; Lions Club award: Lopez Thrift Shop; Chinc Clark Spirit award: Farm to School education; Best Bribe: Sunset Builder’s Supply; Grand Marshal’s award: Lopez Family Resource Center; special awards: Islander Resort band and Lopez Land Trust interns.
