There is a new face at Island Rec! Rebecca Clarke will be filling the Recreation Specialist position previously held by Abby Spann on San Juan Island. Many will remember Rebecca as the Director of Camp Eagle Rock last summer. She continued working for Island Rec throughout the fall and winter on various open community programs such as roller hockey, open skate, badminton, and more. She also worked as a substitute Para-Educator for the Elementary School and as a Youth Advocate for the Family Resource Center’s Strengthening Families Program.

Rebecca has participated in a variety of sports and outdoor recreational activities throughout high school and college and enjoys working with people of all ages which has lead to her choosing a career in recreation. Her experiences as a kayak guide, environmental educator, and camp director have strengthened her belief in the importance of public recreation. Rebecca brings with her new ideas and enthusiasm. She is looking forward to working with the community to continue offering fun, diverse and active programs for San Juan Island community.
