Yes, it’s true, Lopezians and visitors alike will have two opportunities to be entertained by lively musical group JP and the OK Rhythm Boys on Saturday, March 25.
Saturday morning the trio will be performing at the Lopez Island Grange Winter Market starting at 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Shop with local farm and food vendors while you enjoy the music. This is a free-to-the-public event. The Lopez Grange is located at 452 Richardson Road. Then, Saturday evening JP & The Ok Rhythm Boys will perform a Fireside Concert at The Lopez Island Library starting at 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This performance is also free but due to space restrictions tickets are required to attend. Tickets are available at the library’s front desk. These concerts are made possible with support, from the San Juan County Visitors Bureau, The Lopez Island Grange #1060, Friends of The Lopez Island Library, and The Blue Herron Bistro.
JP and the OK Rhythm Boys are JP Wittman, Gordon Koenig, and Anita Orne. The trio amuse and dazzle on fiddle, guitar, bass, tight three-part vocal harmonies, and occasional appearances by uke, mandolin, banjo, and the ever-popular musical saw. Originals to standards, swing to hoe-down, fiddled-up classics from the 50s and 60s, and everything in between, as always JP and the “boys” are sure to please young and old, happy, and grumpy, you and yours.
