The San Juan County Lead Entity for Salmon Recovery is requesting Salmon Recovery project proposals for the Salmon Recovery Funding Board 2024 grant funding cycle. In addition to regular Salmon Recovery projects, this year’s grant round will also include special Riparian funding that has been allocated through the Climate Commitment Act for Riparian projects in San Juan County. The exact amount of available funding in San Juan County is not yet confirmed but is estimated to include the following: between $373,000 to $431,000 for 2024 regular SRFB funded projects; $1,033,444 for 2025-2027 Puget Sound Acquisition and Restoration funded projects; and $485,592 for new Special Riparian funding.
Private citizens, non-profit organizations, local, state, and tribal governments, and special districts are invited to apply for funding through the SRFB Lead Entity process for Salmon Recovery. Projects must be located in the San Juan Islands and adjacent waters. A one-page Letter of Intent is due to the San Juan County Department of Environmental Stewardship via email at samw@sanjuancountywa.gov. The LOI must be received by 5 p.m. on Feb. 16.
