Oct. 16

A report of a hit and run at the county boat dock on Prevost Harbor on Stuart Island was made. Significant damage was done to the boat by an unknown boat at about 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15. A report was taken and photos submitted.

An Orcas Island deputy responded to a welfare check, at the Eastsound Village Green Park. A resident was contacted and offered services, which he refused.

An Orcas Island deputy responded to a citizen assist report of theft. The theft was investigated and was determined to be unfounded.

An Orcas Island deputy responded to a report of a parking problem at the county dock located at 525 Deer Harbor Road. The deputy was unable to locate the registered owners.

A San Juan deputy took a report of animal noise. The incident was investigated and documented.

Oct. 17

A deputy was dispatched to a CPR in progress in the Friday Harbor area. The person passed and a report was taken.

An Orcas Island deputy euthanized an injured deer near the intersection of Orcas Road and Nordstroms Lane.

An Orcas Island deputy responded to a report of assault on North Beach Road. A person was arrested for Assault in the 4th Degree, Domestic Violence.

Oct. 18

An Orcas Island deputy responded to a report of residential burglary, on Spring Point Road. A search was conducted. The deputy was unable to locate anyone in the area. Additional patrols will be performed in that area.

An Orcas Island deputy responded to a report of assault, at the Orcas Island Public Library, located on Rose Street. The parents of the two parties were notified.

A Lopez deputy euthanized an injured deer in Spencer Spit State Park.

Orcas Island deputy responded to a report of found property. The property was returned to the owner.

An Orcas Island deputy responded to a report of fraud. The reporting party said someone from the Sheriff’s Office called her to collect money. The Sheriff’s Office will never call to collect money.

Oct. 19

A deputy was dispatched to a Malicious Mischief report in the San Juan Island area. Several political signs around the area had been defaced with white spray paint. A report was taken.

A deputy was dispatched to an Overdose report in the San Juan Island area. The deputy arrived with San Juan EMS. One juvenile was transported for further treatment. A report was taken.

A San Juan deputy responded to a report of theft of a bicycle. The incident was documented and the bicycle was listed as stolen.

An Orcas Island deputy responded to a report of trespassing on Cove Road. A trespass warning letter will be issued.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a vehicle-versus-building collision at 162 Weeks Road, the Lopez Village Market. Upon their arrival, they saw a black Land Rover parked on the storefront sidewalk with its front end partially inside the store.

San Juan deputies responded to a report of an unwanted person. The individual was arrested for stalking and was booked into jail.

Oct. 20

An Orcas Island deputy responded to a call of an unconscious person. The person in question was deceased. An investigation was conducted, and no suspicious circumstances were found.

Oct. 21

A Lopez deputy was contacted by two parties involved in a civil dispute. No law enforcement action was needed or required.

A deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a found property. A citizen dropped off a ring at the Sheriff’s Office that they had found. The owner of the ring is unknown. The ring was booked into evidence as found property.

A deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of fraud. Personal information was obtained from a scam call and charges were made on the victim’s credit card. There are currently no suspects.

A deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a theft of a generator from a sailboat. This case is currently under investigation.

Oct. 22

A Lopez deputy responded to a report of a hungry elderly individual. The deputy brought the individual a few grocery items. A report will be forwarded to APS and mental health services.

A deputy on Orcas Island conducted a traffic stop. The driver was issued a notice of infraction for speeding 53 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone on Orcas Road. An infraction was issued for speeding and a warning for not having a valid registration.
