Fidalgo Youth Symphony is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing students with opportunities for music education and achievement. For many students the training and coaching they receive helps prepare them for music education at the collegiate level.

The Fidalgo Youth Symphony Board of Directors is offering a Continuing Education Scholarship to a qualifying high school senior with at least 2 years participation in FYS. Award criteria also include academics, school activities, community service and a desire to continue music education in some way.

Applications are available at FYS rehearsals or high school career centers and should be mailed to: FYS Continuing Education Scholarship, PO Box 692, Mount Vernon, Wa 98273 by the March 27, 2010 deadline. The recipient will be notified by mail and will be awarded the scholarship at the final concert, May 27, 2010 at McIntyre Hall.
