San Juan Channel beach walk kicks off this year’s ‘Go Take a Hike’ series

The “Go Take a Hike” beach walk, March 10, 10:30 a.m. at Fisherman Bay Spit Preserve kicks off the Lopez Community Trails Network’s new series of guided hikes. From March through September walks explore seven locations including the San Juan Islands and two off-island locations.

The “Go Take a Hike” beach walk, March 10, 10:30 a.m. at Fisherman Bay Spit Preserve kicks off the Lopez Community Trails Network’s new series of guided hikes. From March through September walks explore seven locations including the San Juan Islands and two off-island locations.

The first walk covers 2.5 to 3 miles total of beach along the San Juan Channel, on the west side of Lopez Island.  The group meets at Fisherman Bay Spit Preserve, van shuttles from the tour starting point and then walks back to the cars. The walk is open to all who like to hike and make new friends.  Advance sign up is required.
