Sat., May 8

Bingo: 6:45 p.m.,Woodmen Hall. Come and have a good time and help support the Lopez Senior Center. A warm-up game begins at 6:45 p.m. and regular play begins around 7 p.m. The Buy-In is $15 for 15 games, warm-up game is $1 (optional), Orange Special is $5 and Power Ball is $1 (both optional). Children 10 and older are allowed to play if accompanied by a parent or guardian. Pay-out is $15 per game (payout is split with multiple bingos).

Gallery Opening: 5 – 7 p.m., Chimera Gallery (show runs through June 11). “Refreshment and Friends.” Featuring Patie Savage and oil paintings, and Lane Langford with acrylic on panel. 468-3265

MEETING: 9:30 a.m., Woodmen Hall. The Enchanted Quilters of Lopez Island meeting. The guest speaker is Wendy Ward from Monterey, CA, who will have a trunk show of her art quilts and will be giving a power point computer presentation. Little League: 10.30 a.m., Gaw Holland Field. Lopez Little League and Bay Cafe play at 1.30 p.m.

San Juan Islands Audubon Society: Lopez Island, Field Trip. Meet 7 a.m. at Center Church to carpool. Led by Bob Myhr, they will especially look for newly arrived summer nesting species. Everyone welcome. For more info call Bob: 468-2258.

Meet with Bob Myhr: 4 – 5:30 p.m., Lopez Library. Join County Councilman Bob Myhr for discussion of county issues. Topics include Lopez Village Planning, Critical Areas Ordinance Review, Best Available Science, Shoreline Master Program Update, county budget reductions, Odlin South reserve, National Conservation Area (not Monument) for BLM lands, and more. Everyone welcome.
