The Island Sinfonia, along with conductor Jack Lynch, will present its annual winter concert on Lopez at Grace Episcopal Church on Saturday, Jan. 26, at 3 p.m.
The hour-long program will include Finlandia by Sibelius, Prelude from Hansel and Gretel, Sunken Cathedral by Debussy, movements from Beethoven’s Sixth Symphony, and the 1812 Overture. Also featured in the program is organist Becky Johnson, who will accompany Marilyn Parman on the double bass in Bloch’s Jewish Prayer.
Twenty-five members strong, the Island Sinfonia is the community orchestra for the San Juan Islands and includes Lopez instrumentalists Ginni Keith, Linnea Paige, Tom Felber and Ginger Riggins.
Friends and neighbors, guests and visitors to the island are invited to attend. The concert is free, but donations may be given.
