Paul Henriksen is the most capable and qualified candidate running for Port Commissioner. He has the business and local knowledge needed to be an effective Commissioner serving all in the Lopez community.
Paul worked at and managed Camp Nor’wester for decades: Handling budgets, personnel, fundraising, contractors, and relationships with Lopez and Nor’wester communities. He knows what it is like to operate a business on Lopez which we all know is different from working in a city office.
Paul has lived fulltime and voted on Lopez for 38 years. He has deep ties to our community and the respect of our community. We trust him. He is not a cut and paste candidate. He knows taking words from other websites and forcing ideas on the Lopez community is not how Lopez gets things done. While some mainland ideas may have merit, they’ll only work if they are crafted to serve and are supported by the Lopez community. Paul is the candidate who will listen to our entire community.
Paul has quickly become informed about the Lopez Port and Ports in general. Reciting from “How to Be a Port Commissioner” isn’t what we’ll get from Paul – he brings a sincere interest in the well-being of our community. He has nothing to personally gain by serving as a Lopez Port Commissioner. He will serve our community well as Port Commissioner, and we’re proud to be voting for him.
