Nicholas William Zoerb, 18, of Lopez Island was arrested on Jan. 20 and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
The complaint filed against Zoerb in San Juan County Superior Court on Jan. 23 stated that Zoerb’s mother called the sheriff after she found what she assumed to be drugs and drug paraphernalia in his bedroom in the family home.
Zoerb is currently on probation for a domestic dispute conviction in juvenile court. Having possession of or using drugs violated his probation and allowed deputies to arrest him without a warrant.
A 1-inch square ziplock bag containing a white crystalline substance determined to be methamphetamine, a black lighter, a BIC pen barrel about 4-inches long and a broken light bulb with burned residue was allegedly located in Zoerb’s bedroom, said to court documents.
According to the deputy’s report, Zoerb admitted that the bag contained meth but that he was not using it, but was selling it on occasion.
Zoerb’s upcoming court dates include an omnibus on March 2 at 9 a.m., a readiness hearing on March 23 at 9 a.m. and a jury trial will begin April 2 at 9 a.m.
