Our students need your support! Lopez Island teachers urge you to vote YES on the Aug. 7 school levy, which replaces a levy that is expiring. Lopez Islanders have a long history of providing this essential local funding for our students. The levy pays for important student needs the state doesn’t fund, like music, art, after-school programs and smaller class sizes. While taxes are always a sensitive subject, we still need to pass this local levy. It’s crucial for us to stay focused on providing the top-quality education island students need to be successful.
