Congratulations to Gabriel, the Barber’s cat, in winning the first annual honorary mayoral race of Lopez Island! Gabriel and his campaign manager ran a strong race this spring, running against many highly adorable contenders. Gabriel’s campaign is committed to friendly waves and purring during petting for the Lopez community. He enjoys listening to the community, and sessions are available to community members by appointment with the Barber in the Ville, (a small hair cut fee may apply).

If you feel that you have a pet that would make a great mayor, then get ready to run in the spring of 2019! This was the first annual honorary mayor elections and all proceeds benefit healthy meals for kids through the school’s garden program!
