Lopez is truly fortunate to have the continuing commitment of Carol Steckler to work on our School Board. She has been a passionate and involved community member in educational issues since the 1960s when her own children started school. She brings extensive experience in listening carefully and non-judgmentally to members of the community, clearly an important skill in these challenging times. Fifty-five years of involvement is a measure of her dedication to youth advocacy and nurturing.

As a former teacher at the high school, I (Polly) have great respect for her thoughtful engagement and wisdom in tackling important educational issues. We strongly support her as a member of the Lopez School Board, and we encourage everyone to vote in the upcoming election – ballots arrive soon!
