As a mother, grandmother, artist and retired public school teacher I know firsthand the value of the “enrichment” programs that the Lopez Island School District is asking us to support for the Enrichment Levy on the ballot this summer. The Enrichment Levy encompasses funds for a wide range of programs and other activities that WA State does NOT fund, including school nurse, basic utilities, assistance for students with special needs, music, art, drama, healthy meals through gardening and the Lopez Island Farm Education (LIFE) programs, to name a few. I ask you to join my husband and I with your willingness to invest in this community’s children by supporting this compelling levy that continues the quality education that Lopez Island School District is known for. VOTE!
