For over 40 years Carol Steckler has served this community in a myriad of ways, always for the good of the community and never to benefit herself.

Carol has: served on the school board more than once, produced many theater productions, hosted Jugglefest for over 20 years; helped KLOI get started; served on the LCLT board as its first chair; lead the Restorative Justice movement here on Lopez; and, fittingly, won the Spirit Award.

She will be the deep keel on the Board of Education as it tests tempestuous waters, drawing on clarity of speech and her commitment to the truth to bring about resolutions of difficult issues. She’s exactly the person this board needs for the immediate future. We wholeheartedly support her.
