The Lopez Island Library welcomes families and audiences of all ages to a daytime concert with longtime Lopez visitor musician, Joe Reilly, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 7 by the library’s fireside. Reilly is a singer and songwriter from Ann Arbor, Michigan, who makes an annual trip to Lopez every spring to connect with local friends and offer a family-friendly concert to all islanders. His songs are playful, heartfelt, clever, and engaging, and always have a meaningful message. At the core of his music is an invitation to nurture and heal our relationships with ourselves, each other, and with the earth. Reilly uses his music to bring people together and build community. He has recorded seven albums of his music, including two children’s albums that are available for check-out at the Lopez Library, “Children of the Earth” (2007) and “Let’s Go Outside” (2011). Reilly’s concert will be approximately one hour long, and is open to all ages. Like all Lopez Library programs, admission is free, and the program is funded by the generosity of the Friends of the Lopez Library. Please pardon the joyful noise in the library’s main space during the concert. We hope to see you there!
