Calming UP
Time to set aside the contentious politics and turn attention to the home base. Many of us are still suffering from a lousy economy, but the really neat thing is, we can look back at what people did to generate income in past lousy economic times and take those ideas to a new level. One thing is “tinkering.” This means, if you have the skill to repair a small appliance or something someone would normally throw away and replace, you have a potential buyer out there who needs what’s being thrown away. Fix and use, fix and sell. Repairs are the mode of the day now, and folks are coming up with loads of ideas In terms of doing the most with the least.
We do have to work harder to focus and keep the wolves at bay, and the planets this month are cooperating. If you’ve considered giving up, don’t. Have another go at it. Folks in the San Juan Islands know it’s especially difficult (or easy) to keep up with ever higher costs, and the reality of the situation is, we can’t afford to hold onto old ideas, old lifestyles or even the meditative hope. This month calls for action, and action will be rewarded. Some good old hard work and innovative thinking will be just what the doctor ordered.
We’re closing out this year. I am still being asked, “When will it be over?” It will be over when the fat lady sings. Next year promises to be another step up from this year, so we all have to get comfortable living inside of a question mark. Good health and a sound mind are a blessing. Don’t waste them!
Aries (March 21- April 19): This week begins with your Ruler Mars holding hands with the Moon in friendly, adventurous Sagittarius in your sector of expansion. Get your outreach done early in the week to receive the full benefit of this lovely conjunction! Need a vacation? Go! Even if it’s for a few days and not far from home, it would do you well to get out and see different scenery and people. You can improvise if money is an issue. A change of venue will be very good for you this week and recharge your batteries. The planets are doing their best to make this a good month for you, so cooperate!
Taurus (April 20 – May 20): Your Ruler Venus is still retrograde, so wait until the end of next week to finalize anything; Venus will reveal where your attention is at any given time, and right now she is retrograde in your sector of work/health/pets. Whether it is you or someone else whose health is compromised, a lot of your attention is holding there and you don’t have the extra energy to expand your own horizons too much. However, with both Venus and Jupiter coming out of retrograde on the same day next week, you will feel the difference then. Keep yourself in a holding pattern and pay attention to second thoughts about anything.
Gemini (May 21- June 20): This will be an excellent week for you to have a medical checkup if you’ve been procrastinating. Your energy is good and opportunities are there for you to better your life in just about every way. You want to be in top shape for this month, because next month won’t be as energetic or productive. If you are shopping for Christmas of just for yourself and you plan to purchase anything electronic, get it now because next month your Ruler Mercury will be retrograde and you know what that means! If you’re into crafting you’re probably as busy as three people now.
Cancer (June 21 – July 22): Love and romance figure prominently for you now, and this week you will be able to have that extra time available for the sweetness of love and the feeling of a perfect world. If you have been aiming to have a child, pregnancy is very likely during this time so make the “trying for it” extra special with your mate. If you don’t want an addition to the family, then take extra precautions! For any type of application (loan, college, etc.) you want to wait until after the 18th, when your chances of getting money improve. In general, this month is focused on love, so if Valentine’s Day was all messed up, do it again!
Leo (July 23 – August 22): You may be engaged in a property issue, in terms of buying, selling, renovating or renting. Whatever was holding you up now breaks and you’re able to move forward with it after a couple of months of being completely frustrated. If you are seeking to buy new appliances, your best luck will be between the 19th and 25th, but not during the Thanksgiving sales…a planetary argument will make you the unlucky one to choose the only item that has a flaw in it and you just hate that. So, make it a mission to find what you need late next week and go shop!
Virgo (August 23 – September 21): If you want to decorate your home for the festive holiday season, now is a good time to draw up your plans since you will find unusual or eye-catching items that are really different and sure to bring smiles. Your own brand of celebrating gets a chance to shine since right now you are focused and able to move ahead with new projects or a position in a new job. You are frugal but you can splurge a little now without taking a hit later as long as you are careful and use cash instead of plastic. Come on, you’ve had your eye on something…make the move! This month is a good one to stabilize and get into the present moment; look at how far you’ve come. Give yourself some love now!
Libra (September 22 – October 23): In some ways you’ve felt like everything you touch certainly has nothing to do with Midas. No, not the car place, the Greek myth. Having stern Saturn in your sign isn’t easy but it only happens once every 29-ish years so learn now and you’ll be well ahead of the pack. Your Ruler Venus is still retrograde and that doesn’t help, but believe me, once she goes direct next week you’ll get a rush of freedom, so hang in there! Don’t dwell on yourself now, focus instead on how you can brighten someone’s day for no reason. You’re good at that so make this week one of targeting someone to delight in a small way while you wait for Venus to turn around.
Scorpio (October 24- November 22): You may be spending more than you are comfortable with because of a home matter and it is likely something involving a water issue. It has to be taken care of, but other than that you are one of the lucky ones this month due to such a beautiful collection of planets in your sign augmented by Jupiter’s presence in your sector of creativity and fun. Others really enjoy your company now, so give it freely but stay away from professional complainers who make it their sole purpose to moan about everything. That is draining for you, and you don’t want psychic vampires around now!
Sagittarius (November 23 – December 20): Hold all big signing of contracts until the 19th. It can wait a week, for sure. Your Ruler Jupiter will go into direct motion then, and it will be all the better for you. This is a month of mixed messages for you, and if you fail to understand something or are the target of blame, your feelings get hurt. Tread softly and do your best to follow the directions (I know, that’s like expecting a brick to talk). Your patience will pay off for you beginning late next week. It’s true! You’ve no doubt had a tantrum or two, and you’re entitled to that. Now, get busy with something you really like doing and get this week over with!
Capricorn (December 21 – January 20): You’ve been working so hard that your social life has been suffering. This week, make it a point to accept an invitation or two, and it is also likely a new friend will show up in your life. While this month is difficult for our country, it is of benefit to you personally so take advantage of it and come up for air. Go have a coffee with a friend or take a day (or more) trip. You need to come up for air and unlock your mind. Don’t brush others off who ask for your company. Accept and enjoy.
Aquarius (January 21 – February 20): The beginning of this week blows you right out of the gate in terms of goals and friends lifting your spirits and making you laugh! Career moves bode very well for you because Lady Luck is with you; if you’re unemployed and looking, you will find the right style and fit very quickly and soon, if you haven’t already. Mostly what glitters for you is any type of career move, and your connections serve you very well. Go out there and get what’s yours!
Pisces (February 21 – March 20): It’s to your own peril if you don’t use the Internet to make international connections, because this month is shining on your to broaden your scope through writing, editing, anything to do with research and an international project. This may sound like pie in the sky, but it isn’t. If you have a marketable skill, the niche is there…over there! Time to expand yourself and your work, have a go at getting published even if it’s self-publishing. Think about it and come up with some creative ideas to communicate or teach. You’ll have fun!
