Happy Birthday, United States of America
Growing pains. Yes. Our nation celebrates its 234th birthday, and being a Cancerian country, we are very sensitive and emotional about stuff. Well, as we continue to grow and are forced to evolve by the many pressures being exerted into our collective consciousness, I propose that we remember what makes this country great: its people. Governments will do what they do anywhere, but let’s not argue about politics, that is so useless. Arguing is useless, in fact. Let’s look at other ways to do things…we can invent. We can suggest. We can ignore it all and enjoy the moment…there are many options regarding how to perceive what is going on in our rapidly changing world.
Islanders, having spent a decade with you I am well aware of the culture of each island and the island culture in and of itself. Living in such paradise has its benefits and drawbacks, and people have a bigger chance to make an impact in a small community that is isolated. This weekend, don’t focus on what is wrong about our country; I can tell you that after my six years in Mexico, that we are in a position to be our own best friend; Mexico is not. We can still dream. Mexico does not. This is only my perspective, and having come home, I am so grateful to see such glorious ideas and expressions around me, to see clean roads without dead animals all over the place. We have build a great nation that will not be destroyed unless we do it ourselves.
This is a bit of a meander, I suppose I’m stalling a bit to tell you that July is going to up the ante yet again. As we hurl ourselves through this evolutionary process, some of us are dropping like flies, some of us are falling down and some of us are maintaining. Please take time to listen, with a capital L. This means look at the good we can do. Look at what we are capable of. Look at who we really are, our authentic selves. We have a lot to celebrate in our little corner of the world. We have a lot to be grateful for.

Aries (March 21- April 19): Well, Rambo, this week will definitely be full of plans for the big weekend! In the meantime, you are going in ten directions but only one is the best direction for you; slow down and contemplate! Gemini (May 21- June 20): You are gearing yourself into a different direction, and it is likely to be of a spiritual nature. No doubt you have a load of books at the ready, for those days of reading outside or sitting on the ferry. You’re garnering many new ideas and making a new life map. Wow!
Cancer (June 21 – July 22): You are really getting your point across now, and folks are listening. With Mercury sailing through your sign and the support of Venus and Mars in relation to it, things are coming together as if by magic now. Enjoy the week, enjoy the moment! Leo (July 23 – August 22): With Venus touring your sign you can’t go wrong, so take full advantage of her help for you this week! Sagittarius (November 23 – December 20): In some ways you’ve managed to dodge bullets, and with your naturally friendly nature you are in good standing with your people. This month hasn’t been the easiest, and July is going to get pretty crazy but your sign is known for its humor; just know when and how to use it so you don’t step on people’s sensitivities (and yes, some folks thrive on sensitivity). Spiritually you are in a state of contemplation, at the same time moving out into this rapidly changing world. For now, just celebrate this weekend and laugh yourself silly!
Capricorn (December 21 – January 20): They really are out to get you. Ha! You’ve been receiving loads of signals from the recent Cardinal Grand Cross, and since stern Saturn is your Ruler, you take those signals…well, sternly. I won’t call you negative, even if you are sometimes. Your job isn’t to be a sunny, bouncy cheerleader; you are a director, but at this point there is more directing you than the other way around. The word “surrender” comes to mind. Find a quiet corner and brood for a bit then go back out and join in the fun whatever way you care to.
Aquarius (January 21 – February 20): You are very busy! Even if it’s only in your head! Most likely it isn’t, and since everything around you is going insane (just the way you like it), you have a chance to render spiritual first aid. You don’t like to stick around for too long, though. But with words chosen from empathy, you can give your people the tools to build the bridge they need to get from there they think they are to where they think they want to be.
Pisces (February 21 – March 20): Get ready for a nothing less than incredible month of July! Get ready by enjoying the heck out of this week and the Independence Day weekend. Gather your friends or accept the invitations, soak in the warmth (both solar and humanitarian), and give some attention to your personal spiritual practice.
