Here We Are…Elections!

No more attack ads, yay! Those of us that still watch the Boob Tube will sigh with relief as the angst and anger end so we can watch funny ads for Geico and the techno-babies getting away with computer feats that we Boomers don’t have a clue about.

Friday’s New Moon falls in the sign of Libra, and this is a particularly strong New Moon for the U.S. We can look forward to a tumultuous month politically, but as we turn our attention to our own lives and communities, there is an enormous amount to be happy about. Let them fight it out…if you voted, you did your job.

Okay, so here comes a glimpse of November: The planets are going cooperate nicely for this month. Venus, Jupiter and Neptune will come out of retrograde later, so the proof will be in the pudding for many of us who have made recent major decisions. Nothing to worry about because we will be better informed.

Those of you who have delayed preparing your homes for winter, I recommend you get it done as soon as possible; as I write this, two volcanoes in Russia have erupted and the ash is going to move our way, bringing colder than normal temperatures. According to long-range forecasters, we’re going to have a bitterly cold winter this year, and earlier than the rest of the country. So, get it done, swap stuff out and be sure you’re set up.

The dark days are here now, time to get out the fairy lights again and let the earth rest.

Aries (March 21- April 19): November starts with you digging pretty deep since three planets occupy your sector of intimacy/shared assets/secrets; Jupiter and Uranus bolster this triad, and you are in the process of purging icky stuff from your mind, body and life. Excellent! As we move into the holiday season, you may be a bit overwhelmed with tasks that didn’t get finished when the weather was good so you may be slogging around wishing you’d taken the time. What else is new? Don’t forget to look for buried treasure, because it’s there! The New Moon in your sector of relationship will clear the way.

Taurus (April 20 – May 20): Shifts and changes this week as the New Moon in your sector of health/work sets you on a new regime; Jupiter and Uranus continue to help you sail forward with gusts of wind coming and going. This alters your speed and allows you the necessary down time for refueling yourself. This is hot cider and hot chocolate season, the time to indulge in simple pleasures that soothe your soul. With so much going on in your sector of relationships, you need to pull back and breathe, so sit by the fire and put your feet up as often as possible this week.

Gemini (May 21- June 20): This week’s New Moon brings a sense of justice for you, and ignites new creative energy. If you are stymied about Christmas gifts, now is the time you’ll get the full idea and inspiration! You don’t like it if grass grows under your feet so you may be away on a short trip or out of town this week; Mars in your sector of relationships has you all fired up in terms of connecting or initiating contact. The New Moon will bring contact from folks in your past, and you will have some terrific trips down Memory Lane!

Cancer (June 21 – July 22): You’re still buried in domestic concerns, or else you work from home so you’re engaged in a project that keeps you tied to your very favorite place, which is your home! The New Moon in your sector of Home clears away some space for you and someone may have plans to move out (if you live with others) in the near future. Don’t get so bogged down that you don’t come up for air, though! Keep your calendar free for visiting friends, who can energize you.

Leo (July 23 – August 22): Okay, so you may be thinking you are bogged down by something going on at home, but you’re not thinking outside the box! Time to consult someone with a different perspective who can light your rocket and get things moving. Fiery Mars is touring your sector of creative expression and the New Moon wipes out lingering doubts. Sometimes you consider things so carefully you grow cobwebs but you have the necessary tools to get going, so get going!

Virgo (August 23 – September 21): You are one of the signs going in every possible direction right now. Listen. You can’t do that because then you leave little bits and pieces undone and when you see all of those little pieces shouting “Defect!” at you, you get bald spots from pulling your hair out. Knock that off. This is how you are, so be that way and laugh it off. This week’s New Moon in your sector of money sees you paying off something soon, or getting paid back for a loan or retroactive pay. Smile and get your hair done with the windfall!

Libra (September 22 – October 23): The New Moon in your sign clears your head and heart, allowing for a refreshing space for good decision making. This week will be active for you, and financially you are probably collecting coins from several different sources, which you will spend as soon as possible due to lively Mars blowing through your sector of short trips and communicating. New electronics? This is a good week to buy; in fact, this entire month will be best for that but not December. Saturn in your sign will give you the necessary powers of discernment.

Scorpio (October 24- November 22): You may feel like you’re going in several directions, but it’s all about money right now. Mars in that sector is working for you, bringing you some really fun ways to deal with your bank account even if it’s low. As we get further into the month, you’ll see some real gains; this is good! The New Moon in your sector of Endings clears out any indecisiveness and gives you the go-ahead to start that new project or whatever it is that is pending. Make this month really work for you!

Sagittarius (November 23 – December 20): You’re moving into a really good time as life is flowing for you now. The New Moon in your sector of friends/goals clears the way for you to maneuver your way around obstacles in a manner that is ethical and up front. Fiery Mars in your sign puts you into a mood of energetic enthusiasm and it’s contagious! The new flow you find yourself in is different and better, and if you look back a year you’ll see how enormously far you’ve come. Stop for a minute and look back, then go get yourself a treat.

Capricorn (December 21 – January 20): The New Moon in your sector of Career/Midheaven has you in a state of preponderance regarding what you’ve achieved this year. And you’ve achieved a lot, whether or not you can see it on the outside. Your goals are solidifying and will be ready to roll this month, so get the prelims done as next month will be a complete screwup. Don’t put off winterizing! You don’t like to be taken by surprise! Other than that, sweet Cappy, enjoy where you are and who you’re with.

Aquarius (January 21 – February 20): One rogue planet (Mars) is pushing your Fun Button and you’re determined to be naughty or being the one providing comic relief. Your sector of goals/friends is very well ignited, thanks to a lovely aspect with Jupiter and your Ruler Uranus providing the necessary fuel to move things to completion. The New Moon this week occurs in your sector of expansion/long journeys so you may be setting your sights on a trip somewhere or an online course, but logistics may call for a change of course. At any rate, it’s a good week for you.

Pisces (February 21 – March 20): We are certainly not short on emotions all over the place due to elections, but you can, and do, duck all of that unless you’re an activist; if the latter is the case, you will do what it takes to get the job done right down to the last minute. There is lots of focus for you, with three planets in your sector of expansion, so your work goes out in a wide swath, propelled by lucky Jupiter still in conjunction with Uranus, the Mover and Shaker. The New Moon this week in your sector of intimacy/shared property may see a source of funding come to an end, so you’ll have to be creative in order to finish the job.
