Lots Of Stuff
At the very beginning of this month, we are flying out of the gate with incredible activity; on the global scale, the Air France crash gained worldwide attention, the H1N1 virus has been shoved back into the corner even though it is still very viable, our President is in the Middle East as I write this, and every country is grappling with its own problems in a very vocal way. We are facing enormous challenges even though we never asked for them. This can cause a kind of personal paralysis as we come into the second week of June and head for the Summer Solstice.
Our comfort zones have been blasted with different events in one way or another, and this trickle-down effect has many wondering just how much longer we will be able to be tenants on this planet before the landlord throws us out.
Still, as we collectively experience globalization and the expansion of the villages, we can’t help but pause and wonder where it’s all going and for what purpose, and for whom? Reactions range from “It’s not my problem” to “Everyone should…(fill in the blank).
No two ways about it, our world is changing faster than many of us can keep up with it. Our very world view is changing, our roles are changing, and what is expected of us is changing. Personal and individual ideals clash with the collective and traditional. These stresses challenge the very fiber of our beings. Yet all is not lost. We adapt and survive. We deal with what we have collectively created, even though it is far from what we had expected.
Does wisdom work anymore? Does philosophy have any value? Is there any such thing as common sense anymore? Let me give you the observation of a Mexican friend: “There are the people that had everything then lost it. There are the people that never had anything to begin with. Now everyone is equal.”
These thoughts come from and Islander living five years now in Mexico with her lively contradictions and nonlinear thinking…very interesting perspectives here!
Aries (March 21- April 19): This week sees Mercury in a very active aspect with mighty Jupiter; although things are looking up in general, this week poses some nagging problems as you may not be able to get a grip on money owed to you or the means to pay back a loan from a friend. You will need to use a different approach to tackle the problem; renegotiate or revamp the original plan. Don’t let this throw you off track.
Taurus (April 20 – May 20): This week, Mercury in your sign squares up with benevolent Jupiter, and this could cause some stresses for you as you reassess your needs and look at a different reality. Ultimately, this is a good thing, because you will be able to explore different ways of understanding yourself on a fundamental level. This is a week of a growth spurt, and while growth can be painful, it yields good results if managed carefully.
Gemini (May 21- June 20): Your Ruler Mercury moves into a stressful position with Jupiter and Neptune; this will set the stage for some confusion and the inability to interpret what is demanded of you; a new beginning is at hand, and you mustn’t let your nerves get the better of you. Gemini is a natural worrier, but you can turn those very same worrying thoughts into strategies with some effort. Put your energies into your doable goals and you’ll fly through the week with gold stars!
Cancer (June 21 – July 22): This week sees a potential showdown between you and a friend; this is for the purpose of new and different roles for each other and the release of entrapment. It’s easy to trap each other in our memories and not allow new growth, but this week calls for clarity, a reorganization of priorities and a fresh start. This is likely to occur with someone with whom you are very closely tied in some way; rein in your reactions and listen. Be sure you are really hearing what is being said.
Leo (July 23 – August 22): This week blows in with the winds of change in your sectors of career and relationships. Mercury (in your career sector) forms a 90 degree angle to the Jupiter/Neptune conjunction in your sector of relationships, requiring a balancing act on your part. If too many demands are being put on you, you need to draw the line and clearly state what you can do now and what will have to wait. From this, you will feel better and know that an understanding has been reached.
Virgo (August 23 – September 21): This will be an intense week with a full plate for you. Swift-thinking Mercury occupies your sector of expansion, and it is challenged by the Jupiter/Neptune conjunction in your sector of work/health. If you haven’t had a checkup recently, go get one. Same goes for pets. Your gutsy Earth-type personality adapts to tangible things, and this week you will see very real results if you are proactive.
Libra (September 22 – October 23): Your scales may get upended this week if you’re not careful; Your sector of intimacy is fired like a rocket, and at the same time, your sector of creative expression is ignited by the glorious Jupiter/Neptune conjunction. The only fly in the ointment is communicative Mercury forming a difficult angle, sending a signal of immovability from your intimacy sector to your sector of creativity. This could result in difficulties with one of your children or a conflict of opinions with someone close to you. Tread carefully this week!
Scorpio (October 24- November 22): Your sign is challenged this week due to Mercury occupying your sector of relationship, in an antagonistic position with the Jupiter/Neptune conjunction in your sector of Home. There may be some squabbles this week due to conflicting interests and/or motives, but your ability to get to the bottom of things will prevail. The good news is that your partner is willing to make the necessary adjustments as long as your demands are reasonable.
Sagittarius (November 23 – December 20): Your week is shaping up in such a way that as long as you can keep your grip on reality, you’ll sail through it. Your nature is normally optimistic, but if someone throws too many negatives at you, you buckle under the pressure, collect your toys and go home. This week isn’t the one to throw in the towel. This is the week to achieve at least one small success, to gain a different perspective that you can work with, and to widen your scope of communicating.
Capricorn (December 21 – January 20): This week sees some surprises as Mercury (communication) forms an intense angle to the Jupiter/Neptune conjunction in your sector of creativity and finances, respectively. Artistic Capricorn natives may find frustration marketing their wares for a fair price; technical Capricorns may have bugs in the system that need to be tracked down and repaired. You get the idea. This is a short lasting aspect specific to this week, but you’ll come out on top so don’t worry!
Aquarius (January 21 – February 20): Mercury in stubborn Taurus (your sector of Home) forms an intense and possibly antagonistic angle with the Jupiter/Neptune conjunction in your sign. This week may be very demanding in the home front, but don’t lose our cool and get gloomy. Keep your wits about you, pay attention and don’t go away with the fairies unless that is your only coping mechanism. In fact, if you go away with the fairies for a bit, maybe you’ll feel more appreciated!
Pisces (February 21 – March 20): There is no cork left in your bottle, Pisces…it’s been completely blown out! This week sees communicative Mercury in your sector of thinking/short trips/learning in an intense angle with the Jupiter/Neptune conjunction in your sector of New Beginnings. Holy cow…apparently you are dismantling the ties that bind and establishing a new and very different relationship with yourself! You are a work in progress, don’t forget that. It’s a journey!
