Equinox

We leave summer behind now, and turn our attention to friendships, home, family and ourselves. The chaos of summer is gone and we settle into our own ways of being during this delightful turning of the Earth away from the Sun. But the excitement isn’t over quite yet! This week sees the Sun in opposition to Uranus, and this is likely to bring an unexpected snafu or two while at the same time bringing delight and victory. Uranus is such a naughty planet; it loves to overturn apple carts, find the elephants in the room and point them out, back us to the wall and get in our faces and generally taser everything it touches just because it can. This isn’t a bad thing, though. Without this zodiacal rebel, awakenings wouldn’t happen, innovation would be sluggish and we would still be in the dark ages in many ways. So, expect a bit of a roller coaster week.

The midweek Full Moon in fiery Aries brings illumination in a forceful way, through dreams, insights or meditational visions. This is such a mysterious time of year and it will reveal to us where we have done good work and where we have slacked off. Good stuff!

The Sun moves from Virgo to Libra on Thursday night, to rise in the sign of Libra on Friday (astrological equinox). Summer has gone bye bye for this year!

Aries (March 21- April 19): The Full Moon in your sign on Thursday gives you the lift to overcome any snaggles; this happens only once a year, so if you can see this moon, blow kisses at it! The week opens with the Sun opposing Uranus…this could bring a very fast and surprising incident in terms of health, especially in the way of a pet. Don’t take any chances, keep your pets indoors at night and when you’re not home. Other than that, we have some opportunities in store for you to make something better that’s been out of phase.

Taurus (April 20 – May 20): Thursday’s Full Moon illuminates your sector of Endings, and you have leave to finish a task with clarity and a sense of finality. The week opens with the Sun opposing Uranus and this opposition takes place in your sectors of creative expression and career; a bolt out of the blue may happen that kicks you into a new dimension of expression. You don’t like new dimensions. You may find this one quite pleasing though, so don’t judge too fast.

Gemini (May 21- June 20): The Full Moon’s energy peaks for you on Thursday, illuminating your sector of friendships/goals. If you are planning to be with your people on Wednesday or Thursday night, this will be the time to pay extra attention for clues and hints of what direction to take next. This is a moon of initiation! The week opens with the Sun opposing Uranus across your sectors of home and career. The way this translates is uncertain, so just use caution early in the week.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22): The Full Moon on Thursday brings a heightened sense of awareness for you; it occurs at your midheaven point and since it happens every year this month, you may feel an extra push of illumination and a feeling of wishing to expand your scope. The week opens with the Sun oppose Uranus, so this could bring unexpected events to you in terms of a short trip or unanticipated expenses. This effect will last all week so keep your ear to the ground.

Leo (July 23 – August 22): This week’s highlight for you is the Full Moon in fiery Aries, flooding your sector of Expansion/Spirituality with her magical light. This will happen at exactly the right time, because the week opens with the Sun opposing chaotic Uranus in your sector of finances. Since this effect will last all week, be careful with your purchases…you may wind up needing to spend money on something pronto, which you don’t like having to do. Virgo (August 23 – September 21): As the Sun finishes up in your sign, it begins this week in opposition to Uranus; this could bring a surprise, and if your birthday is this week, you might be shocked at the love that surrounds you! Libra (September 22 – October 23): We enter your time of year now, and the Equinox marks our turning away from the sun to prepare for winter. This week opens with the Sun oppose chaotic Uranus, so you may feel somewhat off-kilter this week, even if your birthday happens. However, your birthday will be a high point because the Full Moon this week falls into your sector of relationships, throwing light into the corners where you may feel dark and unloved. You’ll be pleasantly surprised!

Scorpio (October 24- November 22): This week opens chock full of mysteries…the Sun opposes Uranus and brings some things flying out of the woodwork from your sector of friendships. Tread carefully because it could be you will be accused of something that has nothing to do with you. Well, that happens. The relief will be the Full Moon in your sector of work and health, and this will be the deciding factor in terms of a healthy response or nonresponse. Don’t let anyone get in your face.

Sagittarius (November 23 – December 20): The week opens with the Sun opposing chaotic Uranus, and this will be a vibe of urgency for you. Since it occurs through your sectors of career and home, you will receive a jolt of inspiration as to how you can make a good situation even better.
