What Can I Say?
World events are unfolding predictably. This week, Jupiter in Aries is in an antagonistic position with both Venus and Pluto. This is a critical week as we reassess what the true needs are and cut away the fluff. At the time of this writing, over half of the U.S. is buried in snow, Australia has just been hit by a Katrina-style cyclone (thankfully, no loss of life due to a lucky hit which is Jupiter’s grace) and the Middle East is in the process of radical changes.
We are preparing for what is to come next month, when explosive Uranus enters Aries and forms a square with Pluto. The signals are there for what is to come. We cope with these changes as best we can, and with enormous pressure on the entire world right now, people are emerging from under the chaos to reach out and say, “help us rebuild.” In my first column for this year, I had called this the year of “REBUILD. NOW.” But in order to rebuild, something must first be destroyed. Destruction is not always a bad thing but it is very disconcerting knowing that we’re not in charge of how that destruction comes to us.
With the forces now visible in terms of our planet’s people coming to terms with each other in terms of being completely interconnected and interdependent, it’s time to consider that we no one can be in isolation anymore. While tolerance and diversity are laudable traits, what will come to pass is the re-establishment of boundaries in terms of acceptable behaviors. This is what is being rebuilt, and we’ll have to see how it plays out. Amazing times to witness and be part of.
Aries (March 21- April 19): Tread carefully this week; Venus in your sector of Career/Potential comes to blows with expansive Jupiter in your sign and you may be pushed into a confrontation you really don’t want. What is helping you is four planets touring your sector of Friends/Goals and they bring sudden insights and/or negative thinking all at the same time, leaving you confused as to the right thing to do. This will be a week to test your patience, and when these incidents occur, remember that knowledge knows how to pour water into a glass but wisdom knows how much or how little.
Taurus (April 20 – May 20): Your sector of Career/Potential is packed with four planets touring there, pulling you out of your hole and throwing you out into the masses. Your steady hand is necessary now, as volatile circumstances are aplenty. Your Ruler Venus in your sector of Expansion sets herself in an antagonistic position with expansive Jupiter in your sector of Endings; this could indicate a cut in finances or loss of resources, necessitating a scrabble to fill in the gaps. Tap into your inner reserve and take it one step at a time.
Gemini (May 21- June 20): The irresistible force meets the immovable object now; while you have plenty of inspiration coming from four planets touring your sector of Expansion with ideas coming from distant places and an enthusiastic exchange of ideas, esteem-building Venus in your sector of intimacy/shared assets gets into an argument with benevolent Jupiter in your sector of Friends/Goals. If you have a benefactor or government aid or a scholarship, you may get crabby about the requirements you must meet. You’ll get through it when you’re done with your tantrum.
Cancer (June 21 – July 22): Your sector of marriage/relationships gets a hiccup this week as powerful Venus comes to blows with expansive Jupiter; this could cause some hurt feelings and hair-trigger tempers. Be sure to think before you speak and if the other isn’t doing that, crawl under your rock until it blows over. You are a very caring person but you don’t want to wear your heart on your sleeve. This isn’t an easy time for you; however, four planets touring your sector of intimacy/shared assets gives you the impetus to do some rearranging and creative thinking in terms of getting the best out of what you have.
Leo (July 23 – August 22): With four planets touring your sector of relationship, you are dragged out of your den and out into the world as you attract new people in unusual circumstances. Your mind may be boggled and your natural reserve may be pushed to its limits, but you’re just going to have to display that winning smile and rise to the occasion! The real bugaboo right now is esteem building Venus in an antagonistic position with expansive Jupiter; Jupiter is trying to help you be bold but Venus is acting as a slowing anchor and that can be frustrating. This influence will last for this week, then pass. Be sure to get the rest you need!
Virgo (August 23 – September 21): Powerful Venus in your sector of creative thinking comes to blows with expansive Jupiter in your sector of intimacy/shared assets. You may have a major disagreement with someone in terms of how to proceed with a project. Most likely, that someone is yourself. You do put a lot of importance into details, and your nature is to compare and enhance. Herein lies the rub, because you often compare yourself to others, or others to yourself. This creates a major distraction and it’s a waste of energy. Cut that cord. Work with what is there and don’t engage in fault-finding because you need your energy for moving forward. Four planets touring your sector of intimacy/shared assets helps you detach and objectify your situation.
Libra (September 22 – October 23): A rush of energy barrages you from your sector of creativity as four planets are touring that area in your solar chart. I bet you’re not sleeping well because you can’t shut your mind off! It doesn’t help that your Ruler Venus is at odds with expansive Jupiter either, and this takes place in your sectors of Home and Relationship, respectively. With this imbalance, you’re going to have to take it one day at a time, one project at a time and find new and different methods for dealing with daily life. Don’t jump to conclusions or waste time trying to analyze something that makes no sense. In this case, hindsight will give you illumination but that takes time.
Scorpio (October 24- November 22): Your home is your place of intense activity; four planets are crowded there, so you may be hosting a lot of guests or engaging in a lot of networking for an important project via the Internet. Technology has enabled us all to connect to the world, for better or for worse, and since you are the natural seeker of truth without fear, it’s not surprising to see you in action now. Powerful Venus in your sector of communication/thinking squares up with expansive Jupiter in your sector of work/health so be sure you’re not overloading yourself. Too many burdens can weaken you; delegate and prioritize.
Sagittarius (November 23 – December 20): Your sector of communication/thinking is loaded, with no less than four planets moving through that sector. You may be engaged in a new project that has to do with other countries or even methods of breaking out of the mold in the areas of fun and adventure. Venus in your sector of money comes to blows with your Ruler Jupiter in your sector of creativity so be careful with your finances now. Set something aside (if you have it) for an emergency repair or replacement. You may be tempted to overreach yourself now, but it isn’t wise to do so. Harness this tremendous energy for the one or two projects that are the highest on your list.
Capricorn (December 21 – January 20): Venus in your sign (along with Pluto) comes to antagonistic angle with expansive Jupiter, and this may signal a need for you to make some pretty big changes in terms of how you exert your authority or parenthood. If you’re a young person still at home, you are likely to feel like rebelling against home rules. The key word now is “transition” and with transition comes adaptation. It is difficult for you to adapt to new circumstances as your sign likes structure and predictability, but you can make good use of your strategic skills to maneuver through what you are called upon to do. Opportunities for engaging in electronic commerce are very strong now.
Aquarius (January 21 – February 20): Four planets in your sign have you full of energy but a bit empty on patience; Venus in your sector of Endings squares up with mighty Jupiter in your sector of thinking/communications. You may decide to end a friendship now due to a snafu or a major disagreement over protocol. You have that knack for suddenly ending something and expecting others to know exactly why, but you must remember that your mind is not a marquee and others can’t guess what you’re thinking. You may have to actually say it in words!
Pisces (February 21 – March 20): Venus in your sector of Friends/Goals squares up with expansive Jupiter in your sector of money. If others have been tapping you for resources, this is a week to pull back since instability is the mode now. If your instinct says, “no,” listen to it. At your best, your sign is very invested in doing the right thing, but now you must define whose idea of the right thing it is. Fortunately, four planets touring your sector of Endings gives you the ability to take corners on two wheels if you have to. Just don’t text while driving!
