Uranus Enters Aries, Squares Pluto: 1927 – Depression Revisited
The last time Uranus was in Aries, our country was saddled with the Prohibition and poised for the Great Depression. The Third Reich was rising in power. When Uranus in Aries squared Pluto in Cancer in May of 1933, Hitler dissolved the unions. This was a tumultuous period of time for the world, with gangs controlling the Black Market for liquor, and the border towns of Mexico enjoyed deprived Americans’ money as they crossed the border to drink and gamble, creating a rather interesting cooperation between our two countries.
This time, Uranus will come to square Pluto again, this time with Pluto in Capricorn. We are already feeling the rumbling of it, but the compression phase of this aspect will accelerate in June of this year. This square will be a long one as both Uranus and Pluto will retrograde but remain close at 2 degrees of separation from an exact square. The exact (to the degree) squares between the two will occur in June 2012, again in May 2013, April and November 2014, and the effects will continue into 2016. Long haul? Yes. These are powerful forces at work, and any babies born during this time will be marked with an inner strength that will make their generation one of resolve and firm leadership.
This cycle is the beginning of the end of the status quo the next generation is rising to power and we are going to have a rough road ahead of us as the powers that be have to show their hand for all to see. It won’t be pretty, but it sure is going to be memorable!
