Lopez children’s author, Jan Crossen, has released two more books in her Farm Adventures Series for readers age 6 and older.
Her book, White Lightning, is about a lonely and angry horse in need of a second chance. The book provides information about horses and life on the farm. It also introduces the reader to natural horsemanship as a way to interact with horses. “Horses communicate with one another through body language,” Crossen said. “Natural horsemanship is a gentle, non-bullying method of working with a horse. It’s a great way to build trust and partnership.”
Her second book, Chick-a-dee-doo-dah, is about a young girl’s memory of a special time she shared with her grandfather on his chicken farm. It’s a sweet story of family and staying connected to our roots. “I wrote Chick-a-dee-doo-dah to provide educational information about chickens,” said Crossen who has a flock of Bantam chickens. “I also wanted parents to realize the profound impact an experience can have on a young child. I hope to reinforce the important role that grandparents play in the lives of their grandchildren. This book has a fun little song that is sung to the Disney Zip-a-dee-doo- dah tune many grandparents may remember from their childhood days.”
Jan’s books are available from the Lopez Bookshop and Amazon.
