Lopez Center’s 21st annual virtual home tour

Submitted by Lopez Center.

Don’t miss Lopez Center’s 21st annual virtual tour! The virtual tour starts this Saturday, Oct. 5, and runs until Sunday, Oct. 13. You can view the tour at www.lopezcenter.org.

Videographer Ken Kortge brings his narrative style to the home tour. The six videos are longer and we get to hear more of the homeowners’ stories and connection to our wonderful island. We join Tom and Stephanie as they build a straw bale house with many helping hands while raising their son. We learn of Steven and Molly’s journey together as boat builders starting in Maine and taking them up through their current project. Randall tours us through his beautiful forever home designed by his late husband Ron, which they created together. Debra shares about designing a home to showcase her husband’s art and with their many cats in mind. Hear of Thomas’s lifelong connection to the islands, including the fateful bike trip on Lopez that led to him and Joanna finding their home. We even meet a unicorn! Well, actually a pony that dresses up for children’s birthday parties as a unicorn. Don’t miss out on seeing these unique vignettes into Lopezian’s lives.

“We are so grateful to the home owners for inviting us into their lives and sharing their stories with us,” Assistant Director Robert Harrison shared. “Ken does a truly amazing job of bringing their stories and journeys to life in the videos.”

The tour is presented for free this year thanks to our generous sponsors. Please join us in thanking them!

As part of the tour, there will be a drawing for a free round-trip flight to Seattle on Kenmore Air. Watch the tour at www.lopezcenter.org and become a sponsor to be entered in the drawing!
