Lopez Village Lighting Ceremony to illuminate the season with music, treats and community spirit

The Lopez Island Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to invite the community to this year’s Village Lighting Ceremony, taking place on Friday, Nov. 29, from 4:30 p.m.-6 p.m. in Village Park. Join us as we usher in the holiday season with the magical glow of lights, festive treats and heartwarming holiday cheer! The lights will be officially switched on at 5:15 p.m., brightening up the park and village for the winter season.

This beloved tradition promises holiday magic for all ages. Santa and Mrs. Claus will make a special entrance on the fire engine – a big thank you to Chief Adam Bigby and our local fire department for their festive support! Families can gather around to enjoy complimentary cookies, hot cocoa and hot spiced cider, served with a smile by our wonderful volunteers.

For this year’s entertainment, we’re excited to welcome back MPPACT, the Lopez School’s rock band, who will bring holiday classics to life under the direction of Jesse Hammond.

We’re especially delighted to debut over 600 handcrafted luminaries strung throughout the Village, casting a gentle glow that will brighten up these darker winter months and bring a sense of warmth and unity to our community. Debbie Collins, who led this incredible effort, worked with the community to make the vision come to life, creating a beautiful way to celebrate the season together.

Join us for an evening that celebrates the spirit of Lopez Island! Whether you’re coming for the treats, music or just to enjoy the glow, the Village Lighting Ceremony is sure to create cherished memories for all.
