Submitted by the Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival.

The Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival celebrates its 26th season, with an engaging series of concerts from Aug. 4-19, featuring a lineup of renowned musicians, composers, and brilliant programming by OICMF Founder and Artistic Director Aloysia Friedmann.

The Festival returns to Lopez Center on Aug. 14 at 3 p.m., with a stunning program, featuring the Northwest Premiére of Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Caroline Shaw’s “Microfictions, Vol. 1,” performed by OICMF’s quartet-in-residence, the Miró Quartet.

The Lopez Concert will also feature performances by flutist Sandy Hughes, cellist Annamarie Wellems, violinist Yura Lee, alongside returning artists Aloysia Friedmann on viola and Jon Kimura Parker on piano. Masterful works by Claude Debussy, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Felix Mendelssohn are also included in the program, ensuring an afternoon of romance and adventure.

Join us for a wine reception outdoors on the Lopez Center covered veranda, with appetizers provided by Island Grazing Table, following the concert. Lawn games and refreshments will also be available for younger concert attendees.

Tickets for the concert may be purchased online at oicmf.org. Prices are $40 for adults and $10 for youth under 18. Free tickets for youth, sponsored by Sunset Builders Supply, are available.
