Seattle’s The Barn Owls will play the monthly square dance at the Lopez Island Grange on Friday, April 12. The band includes Brittany Newell on fiddle, Kate Lichtenstein on guitar and Hannah Traynham on banjo.

The Barn Owls bring an intuitive bent to the old-time and early country music tradition, mixing high-energy dance tunes with tight three-part harmonies on traditional and original songs. Caller Amy Hofer from Portland, Oregon will join the trio. There will be a potluck at 6 p.m. followed by the dance at 7:30. Tickets at the door, sliding scale $10, kids free.
