In a tradition that started a number of years ago, Lopez islanders looked over the poster entries on display at the post office during March.  The top four winners were then presented to the 80+ Farmers Market members at their recent annual meeting.  The members selected the winning poster for 2011 and presented the artist, Piper Dalton, with a check for $400!

Dalton has grown up on Lopez, glass artist parents Lark Dalton and Corrie Haight providing a creative atmosphere in which to thrive.  She is currently pursuing a career in fiber art and will be selling her products at the Farmers Market throughout the summer.

Her poster will also be on sale at the Farmers Market, which begins on Saturday, May 21, in the village.  Market Manager Virginia will have a supply at her stand by the main entrance to the market.  Dalton can also be found at in her regular market vending site and would be pleased to sign posters upon request.
