The San Juan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following calls

Sept. 27

• A deputy on Orcas responded to a parking complaint. The vehicle had previously been tagged with a 72-hour notice and was impounded.

• Lopez deputies were dispatched to a citizen dispute call at a local business. The reporting party (RP) said that her husband was cussed out and then punched by an individual. The suspect had left the scene before deputies arrived. The investigation is ongoing.

• On Lopez, deputies were dispatched for a dog-at-large on the south end of the island. The owners were contacted, and the incident was documented.

• A detective on San Juan took a report of harassment. Although the incident did not meet the requirements for a crime per state law, the incident was documented.

• Orcas deputies were dispatched to a report of residential burglary. The investigation is ongoing.

Sept. 28

• An Orcas deputy contacted a resident about fraud. It was determined no crime was committed and the resident had received a scam phone call, gave no information, and hung up on the scammer.

• A Lopez deputy responded to a civil issue regarding shared well use and easement issues. Both parties were strongly encouraged to settle the matter in civil court. Resolving the issues will not be decided by deputies.

• A deputy was dispatched to a domestic incident on San Juan. When the deputy arrived and contacted the people involved one person was found to have warrants from another county. That person was arrested on the warrants.

• A Lopez deputy and health professional responded to a person in crisis and offered resources.

• Orcas deputies were contacted by a landlord regarding a landlord-tenant dispute. The individual was provided with resources.

• Deputies were dispatched to a report of threats toward an individual on Orcas. An investigation was conducted, and it was determined that no crime had been committed.

• A Lopez resident reported a trespassing incident. A red Dodge Nitro occupied by two people drove down a long private driveway and said they were looking for a place to rent.

• An extremely intoxicated Friday Harbor resident was found outside the family resource center and transported to the hospital by San Juan EMS.

• Deputies continue their investigation of a hit-and-run accident at the ferry terminal on Orcas.

Sept. 29

• Deputies responded to a reported domestic violence call. After further investigation, it was determined there was an assault, and the aggressor was arrested and booked into San Juan County Jail.

• A person on Lopez was arrested for theft of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm.

• A Lopez deputy was contacted regarding an ongoing civil issue.

• Deputies on Orcas were dispatched to a report of trespassing. All parties were contacted, and the incident was documented.

• Orcas deputies found a mesh bag on Mt. Baker Road. No owner information was found, and the bag was booked into evidence per policy.

Sept. 30

• A detective on San Juan responded to a report of domestic violence. The incident was investigated and found to be verbal.

• An Orcas deputy booked a found Banner Bank debit card into safekeeping.

• A deputy was contacted about a vehicle prowl in the Friday Harbor area. The person reported several items were removed from a parked vehicle.

• A Lopez deputy was dispatched to a call that involved an individual having vivid hallucinations that people were inside their home, though the investigating deputy found no one else was inside the home. A crack pipe was located and confiscated, and the incident was documented.

Oct. 1

• A Lopez deputy responded to a welfare check and made a health referral.

• A deputy on Orcas responded to a report of property damage. The involved parties resolved the incident civilly.

• On Orcas, a deputy was assigned a vehicle prowl case. An investigation commenced.

• A deputy responded to a non-injury accident in Eastsound. Both parties wanted to work it out civilly.

Oct. 2

• A Friday Harbor couple was trespassed from a relative’s property and told if they returned, they may be arrested.

• A Lopez deputy responded to a harassment complaint.

• The Orcas Sheriff’s Office received a suspicious email regarding possible sales of explosives. An investigation was conducted, and the email was deemed to be unfounded. No threat of any explosives being used or sold was found.

Oct. 3

• A Lopez deputy was dispatched to a harassment call. It was determined to be an ongoing civil matter, and the incident was documented.
