Lopez Artist Guild Opening Reception: 5–6:30 p.m., Lopez Center for Community and the Arts. The Lopez Artist Guild will host an Opening Art Reception. The featured artists are: Lynda Meurk Anderson with Mix Media, Steve Ruegge with Cast Stone Sculpture, Jan Scilipoti with Textiles, and Sylvia Chesley Smith with Sculpture. The show will be on going from March 5 through April 5.

Computer Training: Drop-ins Welcome, 10– 11 a.m., Lopez Library, Community Meeting Room. Free basic computer skills each Friday morning. Learn about all the keys on your keyboard and how they operate in Windows. Learn about your mouse. Learn about searching the world wide web and your own library’s information. Learn to create documents, save, print and search them. You’ll be emailing and surfing the net in no time. Classes will be tailored around those who attend the class each week.

A Tribute to the Writing Life of Leta Marshall: 7:30 p.m., Lopez Center for Community and the Arts. Members of her writing group will read several pieces of Leta`s diverse writing work, ranging from newspaper articles to memoir essays about her life to short fiction. Admission: by donation.

Lopez Gardeners: 9:30 a.m., Woodman Hall Senior Center on Fisherman Bay Road. Christine Langley presents: “Starting With Seeds,” Christine has been growing food on Lopez Island since 1991. She is the owner/operator of Lopez Harvest and markets all her produce on Lopez. Her presentation will include demonstrations, samples, hands on experience.

“Radical Reels”: 7:30 p.m., Lopez Center for Community and the Arts. Part of the Banff Film Festival, the “Radical Reels” is a selection of top quality, adrenaline filled films featuring sports such as skiing, climbing, kayaking, BASE jumping, snowboarding and mountain biking. The event is being run as a fund raiser for the Lopez Center and the Family Resource Center.
