The San Juan County Health and Community Services Department is now offering a computer-based food handling training program that allows people to do the required coursework and take the test to qualify for a food handling card in less than an hour. The fee is just $10.
The San Juan County Health and Community Services Department has set up two computerized training stations to provide the course, “Do it Right, Serve it Safe” at its Friday Harbor office at 145 Rhone Street. The training stations are available on a first-come/first-served basis between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday-Friday (except holidays).
The Orcas Island training station is available Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at 62 Henry Road. Trainees on Orcas should call Wayne Totten at 370-0590 to make sure the station is available.
