The Puget Sound Blood Center, sponsored by the Lopez Island Lions Club, is holding a blood drive on Lopez Island on Tuesday, Dec. 9. The drive will be from noon to 6 p.m. at the Community Church in the Village.

This will be the last Lopez Island blood drive this year. The next one won’t be until March 17 in 2009. So far this year, the Puget Sound Blood Center has registered 177 donors and collected 149 units of blood during its blood drives on Lopez Island. Thank you!

Giving blood is a safe and easy process. The entire blood donation process takes about one hour. To prepare for donating blood, please be sure to eat a balanced meal and drink plenty of juice or water at least four hours before giving blood.
