Friends of Lopez Island Pool (FLIP) held two raffles this summer to support the non-profit’s effort to build an aquatic center. In an electric-assist bicycle raffle, Jake Jones drew out the lucky ticket at a Saturday Farmer’s Market for Dianne Erickson of Ashland, Oregon. Special thanks to Black Dog Bicycles for their expertise in assuring the bike was fully functional.

The second raffle for a luxurious getaway (two nights at MacKaye Harbor Inn, kayak and bicycle use, dinner at the Bay Café, a catered dinner at the inn, two massages, and a bottle of Lopez Vineyard wine) was won by Mary Ellen Delapena of Seattle.

Both winners own property on Lopez and visit part-time. Each was thrilled to win and equally happy to support this phase of FLIP’s efforts. All proceeds will help pay for design and permitting fees. Go to www.lopezislandpool.org to donate and check FLIP’s progress.
