Lopez Island Hospice and Home Support is dedicated to the mission of helping people who want to remain at home whenever possible, despite illnesses, injuries, and other hardships. As part of this goal, we are offering a series of community education programs, entitled “Living Long on Lopez.” The second panel discussion in the series, “Finding Help at Home,” will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2-4 p.m. in the Gathering Place at The Hamlet.

This is your opportunity to hear from several individuals and organizations that provide assistance to Lopez residents. There will be brief presentations by representatives from Lopez Hospice and Home Support, Senior Services, Lopez Island Family Resource Center, Island Home Health, private caregivers, Emergency Medical Services, and Hamlet House. The goal is to educate Lopez residents about what is available, how to access resources, and to provide the time and space for community members to ask questions of the people who know the answers. There are many resources to offer assistance when you or someone you care about needs it, so bring your questions and join the discussion. For more information, call the Lopez Island Hospice and Home Support office at 468-4446.
