Pianist Ron Myers streams Orcas Center performance

Orcas Center is pleased to present island legend, pianist Ron Myers, through their free streaming events series on Friday, May 7 at 7 p.m.

To watch, go to www.OrcasCenter.org on the day and time of the performance.

Myers began private classical training at the age of six and continued for the next 11 years.

A 40-year professional career precluded music as a full-time endeavor. Myers was afforded the opportunity to travel worldwide; always having a piano to play. Dance bands, radio shows, piano bars, weddings, variety shows, restaurants, special events have all contributed to his musical experience.

Since moving to Orcas Island in 1992, Myers has taught piano privately, accompanied musical productions at Orcas Center, played regularly at Rosario Resort, worked with island singers, and played four summers at the restaurant at Deer Harbor Inn.

At 85, Myers never imagined that his performances could be streamed into the homes of his audience, and is excited to share his love of music during the pandemic.
