The San Juan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following calls.
Sept. 18
• A black iPhone was found on the roadway on Miller Road. A message was left on the owner’s home phone and the phone was booked into the property room.
• A deputy on Orcas was dispatched to a suspicious call near the ferry landing. It was found, after an investigation was completed, that someone had switched the license plate of a vehicle possibly in Seattle the night before. A report was authored.
• A deputy on Orcas responded to an order violation. The suspect was arrested and transported to Friday Harbor. A report was authored.
• San Juan deputies responded to a report of vandalism and theft of street signs. The deputies located the suspect vehicle and recovered 36 signs, mainly from a lake as the suspects were disposing of them when the deputy arrived. Four signs are still missing. One adult and one juvenile were arrested.
Sept. 19
• A San Juan deputy stopped a vehicle for traveling 58 mph in a posted 45 mph speed zone. The driver was issued infractions for speed and no insurance.
Sept. 20
• A deputy was contacted about harassment in the Friday Harbor area. The person stated that she was being stalked. The person was advised to continue to attempt to obtain a civil order. A report was taken.
• A deputy on Orcas responded to a theft call at the library. Once the suspect was identified, contacted, items returned, and a meeting took place and a plan was set in place for further assistance. A report was authored.
• Lopez Island deputies were dispatched to a welfare check. An individual was contacted and the incident was documented.
• A San Juan deputy responded to a citizen assist regarding harassing behavior. No crime occurred and the reporting party was provided with resources.
• A Lopez deputy responded to a fraud call. A report was taken.
• A Lopez Island deputy stopped a vehicle on Mud Bay Road. The driver was subsequently issued an infraction for speeding 58 mph in a posted 35 mph zone and not having insurance.
Sept. 21
• A deputy on Orcas Island conducted a traffic stop. The driver was issued a notice of infraction for speeding, 60 mph in a 35 mph zone.
• A deputy on Orcas Island conducted a traffic stop. The driver was issued a notice of infraction for speeding, 45 mph in a 25 mph zone.
Sept. 22
• A deputy on Orcas Island contacted a person on Land Bank property. The person had previously been trespassed from all Land Bank property. The person was issued a citation for criminal trespass in the second degree.
• A deputy on Orcas Island responded to a suspicious circumstance. No crime had been committed. The Deputy authored an informational report.
• A Lopez Island deputy was dispatched to a disorderly conduct call in the early morning hours. The individual was contacted, and the issue resolved. An informational report was completed.
Sept. 23
• A Lopez man was contacted for camping in a local park. Several priorwarnings had been issued, along with the male being connected to housing resource assistance. The man was removed from the park and issued a criminal citation.
• A Friday Harbor man was trespassed from all Port of Friday Harbor property including Jackson’s Beach. He was provided written notice and declined to sign the form.
• A deputy on San Juan Island took a report of an ongoing property line and property damage issue between neighbors. Ultimately a trespass notice was served. A report was completed.
• A deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of disorderly conduct at Sunken Park in Friday Harbor. The deputy located the male who wasbreaking and throwing around his own belongings. The individual left the area yelling profanities. Their items were collected as found property.
Sept. 24
• A deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a single vehicle accident at the cape. The vehicle came to rest far off the roadway in the trees. The driver was taken into custody and booked into the San Juan County Jail for Driving Under the Influence. A report was completed.
• A Friday Harbor man, after being trespassed from the Port of Friday Harbor property, was seen in the bathrooms at Spring Street Landing. He was also seen unplugging the power cords to several boats.
• A Lopez Island deputy stopped a vehicle on Mud Bay Road. The driver was subsequently issued an infraction for speeding 60 mph in a posted 45 mph zone. Additional warnings were given.
• A watch was found in the Town of Friday Harbor and turned into theSheriff’s Office. It was booked into the property and evidence room.
• A Lopez Island deputy was dispatched to a Mental Health Call. An individual was contacted, and the incident was documented.
• A Lopez Island deputy stopped a vehicle on Mud Bay Road. The driver was subsequently issued an infraction for speeding 51 mph in a posted 35 mph zone and additional warnings were issued.
• A Lopez Island deputy contacted an individual on Hummel Lake Road. The incident was documented.
• A deputy on San Juan Island located an individual whom probable cause had been developed for earlier in the day. The individual was taken into custody and booked into the San Juan County Jail.
