Every week we pose a different question to our readers. Answers should be no longer than 100 words. All readers in San Juan County are invited to participate. Please e-mail responses to Colleen Armstrong at carmstrong@islandsweekly.net by Thursday at noon.
Last week’s question:
What kind of group or club would you like to see started in the islands?
From Maia Yip:
I believe a single parents’ group is needed on all of the islands. The unique challenges of being a sole parent here requires the support of other parents whom are experiencing the same situations within their circumstances. I would like to see the group advocated by a skilled professional in guiding single parents to resources, self-help information, and opportunities for having fun within the family home.
Families with one parent are exceptionally resilient and strong. I would like to see support in a number of situations in order to create an environment that eases the responsibility of being a multi-faceted provider.
From Molly Swan-Sheeran:
I’d like to see a rock hunting club on the island.
This week’s question:
What did you think of the recent “Fiddler on the Roof” production at Lopez Center?
