On Aug. 17 two top vote-getters advance to the Nov. 2 general election.

Ballots must be postmarked that day. They can also be delivered to the Elections Office, 55 Second St., Suite A, Friday Harbor. Or they can be deposited into the 24 hour drop box in Lopez Village, outside the Lopez Island Fire District 4 office, Fisherman Bay Road.

Some 11,484 ballots were mailed to San Juan County voters the last week of July. As of Aug. 5, the San Juan County Elections Office had received 1,714.
