Wolf Hollow Wildlife Rehabilitation Center welcomes Julie Duke as its new executive director. Duke began her association with Wolf Hollow as an animal care volunteer back in 1997/98 when she was completing her associates degree at Skagit Valley College, Friday Harbor. She then volunteered in animal transport on Orcas and later served as a board member until she moved away from the islands in 2004. Julie then completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Washington State University before focusing on nonprofit management and fundraising in Mendocino, Calif., and on Bainbridge Island. She is excited to come back to Wolf Hollow as executive director and is looking forward to becoming part of the local community and working with Wolf Hollow supporters.

Julie Duke takes over the position from Julie Knight who has been Wolf Hollow’s executive director for the past six years. Knight also has a long history with the organization. She started as an animal care volunteer in 1985, served on the board of directors for over 20 years, including several terms as board president, and is also well known as an animal transport volunteer on Lopez. She is pleased to hand over the reins of Wolf Hollow to Duke, but will continue working with the organization as an advisor and board member.
