Galen Duane Burckhard passed away peacefully at home in Arlington Washington on Oct. 18, 2024 surrounded by loved ones. Galen was born July 27, 1956 in Rugby North Dakota.

Galen was the son of Joseph L Burckhard and MaryAnn Burckhard and is survived by 8 brothers, 2 sisters, 32 nieces and nephews, 55 great nieces and nephews and 1 great great nephew. Galen was loved by his Lopez Island community and will forever be remembered for his beautiful tile art work, which many of us will see everyday when we pass through our homes. Galen’s love for music and rhymes will forever be in our heads and hearts. Rock on my dear friend. “ You Betcha.”

A celebration of life will be held on July 27, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Union Cemetery on Lopez Island.
