Lopez boys basketball is in the enviable situation of having 14 returning players. Our senior group this season — Silas Gronley, Tristan Dyer, Kemeid McClean, Ethan Patrick, Liam McDonald, Henry Robles and Jacob Velazquez-Velazco — comes with a great deal of basketball experience and will provide great leadership for the younger players. Juniors and sophomores include Jake Jones, Andris Meissner, Oliver Rick, Kayden Sarazin, Nathan Kenny and Daniel Valencia. I’m excited that our freshmen — Ian Cankusic, Huck Henderson, Colin McDonald and Manuel Coro — will grow and learn from all the older players. Altogether, our team has plenty of speed, which will allow us to work on slowing the ball down while running our offense. I’m excited to see how the new players will fit in and complement the returning players and create more opportunities for everyone.
