Old and new faces for Lopez Golf

By Ginger Plum, athletic director

The Lopez Lobos golf team kicked off the season on March 5 under sunny skies, full of excitement for the coming season. As a first-year golf coach, I’m lucky to have Jessie Patrick co-coaching this year’s team. We all hope to help both returning and new athletes grow their game and work toward post-season goals.

This year’s girls squad is made up of four strong returning varsity players in Kaileah Poole, Josie Luckhurst-Slattery, Mira Velo and Anna-Sophia Rempel. Up-and-coming golfers Vix Raya and Aspen Hatchel will help mentor beginners Zoe Soule and Anaya Dupuis. On the boys’ side, the team will be led by Henry Robles, Uli Velasquez and Simon Rosevear. Kayden Sarazin is joining the team this year and picking up on the sport quickly. This is an incredible group of athletes whose coachability and love of the sport make it a fun and rewarding program to coach. Jessie and I are excited to see their growth throughout the season.
